Project Modolōm (/mo.do.lo:m/ mo-dough-loam) is my years long fantasy worldbuilding project, centered around making a home for most of my Original Characters (OCs) but also just to have fun with it; worldbuilding for the sake of worldbuilding. This page is a Work In Progress, so expect it to be sparse and for informantion to move about.
Geography

World Map
2026 ed.
Modolōm takes place on a custom Earth-like planet, that is about 0.997 Earth Radius (Re) long, and has one major continent about the size of real-world Eurasia. This section is a major work in progress until I can fix my method for getting the maths of the main map's scaling, but I hope you enjoy seeing the world in Equal Earth projection anyway.
Species
The world of Modolōm is populated by three humanoid-esk sub-species: the Voidlings, Soulsprites, and Terraborne (all working names & subject to change).
Each species has its own form of melanin that, combined with the others, makes up the species differences in hair, iris, and skin pigmentation. Otherwise, all three species have long sheep-like ears (think Rauru ToTK or Inklings from Splatoon) and one species-dependent feature: bioluminescent sacs & often moles/freckles for Voidlings, Soaring Wings for Soulsprites, and Horns for Terraborne.
Voidlings
Appearance
Voidlings have monochromatic skin and hair ranging anywhere from snow white to an inky purple-black. Their skin is dotted with bioluminescent areas, ranging from yellow to cyan to lime green, depending on genetics. Similarly, they have lime green to violet coloured eyes, and error on the taller side genetically.
Soulsprites
Appearance
Soulsprites have bright and diverse skin and hair tones, ranging anywhere from cyan to light magenta and other cool tones. Their irises are cool green to almost indigo in hue, but they are most well known for their shorter stature and the 2.5 to 3 armspan-long wings they use to glide around.
Terraborne
Appearance
Terraborne have brown and earth-toned skin, hair, and eyes; though their eyes can also be monochromatic in hue. Terrabornes also sport great horns right above their foreheads, which grow upwards and for some Terraborne curve down, sometimes all the way to reaching right behind their ears, as they age.
Hybrids
Due to speciesism being held in a small portion of someone's DNA, it is possible and extremely common for elements of multiple species to show up in one human, often classified by governments as being a Hybrid Species.
Most continents have many individual cultures and names for certain Hybrid pairings, like for example, the Starborne of the Southern West, who are most commonly associated with their bioluminescence but otherwise Terraborne-like features (though modern Starborne communities have become more diverse and accepting of other forms of Terra-Void Hybrids).
